Women’s Career Network Sweden is now recruiting a new Board for Autumn 2026 – Spring 2027.

Who We Are

Women’s Career Network (WCN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for women and non-binary students and young professionals in business and law. Our mission is to support and inspire the next generation of leaders by building inclusive communities and facilitating access to mentorship, career insights, and top-tier companies. WCN Sweden is the founding chapter of the organization and works closely with our international network, including WCN Finland.

What We Offer

Please note: All positions are part-time, voluntary, and unpaid.

Expectations

As a board member, you are expected to:

  • Take full ownership of your role
  • Identify what needs to be done and drive it forward independently
  • Communicate proactively and follow through on commitments
  • Collaborate with the wider board to stay aligned

This is not a role where tasks are assigned weekly — you are expected to lead your function. Estimated time commitment: ~5–10 hours per week

Role Descriptions

President & Head of Advisory Board

Overview
Lead WCN both strategically and operationally, ensuring alignment, structure, and progress across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive overall strategy and alignment across all functions
  • Organize and lead board meetings (agendas, minutes, follow-ups)
  • Track key initiatives and overall progress
  • Support and coordinate board members
  • Ensure accountability and clear communication
  • Act as main point of contact for the Advisory Board

Time Commitment
4–10 hours/week

Success Looks Like

  • Clear direction and alignment
  • Structured, productive meetings
  • Strong follow-through on initiatives
  • A cohesive and accountable board

Head of Operations

Overview
Own WCN’s internal operations, including structure, processes, and full membership lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve workflows, documentation, and timelines
  • Lead onboarding and ensure smooth handovers
  • Own membership management (onboarding, engagement, communication)
  • Act as first point of contact for members
  • Track engagement across members and board
  • Maintain internal systems and tools
  • Support leadership in driving accountability

Time Commitment
4–8 hours/week

  • High visibility on activity and performance

Head of Mentorship

Overview
Own and run WCN’s mentorship programme end-to-end, from planning to execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute mentorship cycles
  • Manage mentor and mentee communication
  • Maintain timelines and program structure
  • Develop and improve the program year-over-year

Time Commitment
4–8 hours/week (higher during launch periods)

  • Programme runs on time with clear structure
  • Strong mentor and mentee engagement
  • Clear and professional communication

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Is comfortable managing timelines
  • Is confident communicating externally
  • Can work independently while staying aligned

Head of Finance & Sponsorship

Overview
Own WCN’s financial management and full sponsorship lifecycle, from outreach to contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking
  • Maintain financial oversight and reporting
  • Own sponsorship pipeline (outreach, negotiation, contracts)
  • Track contract timelines and renewals
  • Develop sponsorship offerings with Events
  • Maintain structured sponsor documentation

Time Commitment
4–8 hours/week

  • Clear financial structure and reporting
  • Active and organized sponsorship pipeline
  • Timely contract renewals
  • Strong coordination with WCN activities

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Is structured and detail-oriented
  • Has basic financial understanding
  • Is confident in external communication
  • Can take initiative in outreach and partnerships

Head of Marketing

Overview
Own WCN’s marketing strategy, brand direction, and channel performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define marketing strategy across platforms
  • Manage editorial calendar
  • Analyze performance and optimize content
  • Set content direction and campaign priorities
  • Collaborate with Communications on execution
  • Support Events and Sponsorship positioning

Time Commitment
4–8 hours/week

  • Clear and consistent brand direction
  • Data-driven improvements in engagement
  • Well-planned content across the year

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Thinks strategically and analytically
  • Is comfortable using data
  • Can plan and structure effectively

Head of Communications

Overview
Own WCN’s content execution and messaging across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and publish social media content
  • Create newsletters and email communications
  • Manage event communication
  • Handle internal and external messaging
  • Update website content (WordPress)
  • Produce content using Canva templates

Time Commitment
4–8 hours/week

Success Looks Like

  • Clear, consistent, high-quality communication
  • Timely and well-executed content
  • Strong and cohesive voice across channels
